Matthew Leversedge is a Sprintcar driver from Christchurch, New Zealand.

Matthew Leversedge is a third-generation racer, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfathers and uncle who have strong ties to motorsport. Racing has always been a big part of Matthew's life, and he takes pride in continuing the family involvement in the sport.

Matthew began racing at five years old in cadet go-karts at Carrs Road Kart Track in Wigram, Christchurch. Those early years helped him develop the basics of race craft and a strong appreciation for preparation and consistency. At eight years old, he moved into Quarter Midgets at Ruapuna Speedway, where he spent seven seasons learning the foundations of competitive speedway racing.

At fifteen, Matthew progressed into Three-Quarter (TQ) Midgets under a Speedway New Zealand dispensation. Over four seasons in the class, he gained valuable experience racing at a national level, learning to adapt to different tracks, conditions, and competition while continuing to develop both as a driver and within a team environment.

Matthew has since stepped into Sprintcar racing, a level he had been working toward throughout his junior career. Competing in Sprintcars has been a dream come true, giving him the opportunity to represent his family, supporters and partners across New Zealand. Matthew values the backing he receives and aims to represent his partners in a professional, respectful manner both on and off the track.
